My passion is helping others.
I am passionate about helping others. I discovered this passion over the summer where I helped out at my sister's school. While staying there over the summer, I worked with little children and I realized I wanted to work with helping other children. Even as a child, I enjoyed helping others. Whether it was working on homework, or even an emotional experience. Whenever someone needs help, they can always ask me and I'd be there to help without hesitation.
Attending National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine will help me explore my passion by discovering how I can help others medically. This program would give me a head start on helping others by exploring the different subjects of medicine and its medical impact on our society. Exploring different fields at this age would prepare me for the future, where knowledge like this is needed. Doing this would already have me set up for later activities in medicine such as in college.

Shyanne has always been passionate about helping others, since her first day of 5th grade. Serving as both her 5th and 6th grade math teacher (and later mentor), I've had the ability to see Shyanne's passion for helping others grow from the initial helping her peers in class by teaching them how to solve a difficult math problem, to her volunteering to help younger students with their math fluency during our enrichment period. Her excellent academic background and incredible wit and intellect make her a quick study when learning anything new, which will be indeterminably helpful in such a fast-paced, high-octane profession as the medical sector, but most of all, her eagerness and willingness to help others along the way are what makes Shyanne so special and so qualified for this opportunity. Quite simply, Shyanne makes everyone around her better by making sure that they feel included and by going out of her way to ensure everyone gets the help that they need.
Thank you to all my donors for helping me to gain all the money needed to attend my program, National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine. I enjoyed my experience as I got to hear out the typical days for medical students and actually work on simulations. I was able to listen to speakers as they spoke on their lives as doctors and how they've made it through their journeys and even seen a live surgery. I was able to learn how to draw blood, learn how to do CPR, how to help an injured person when there's not many supplies, and much more. If it wasn't for your help, I wouldn't have learned or experienced any of this so thanks to all those who've contributed!
Shyanne! Congrats on getting into an amazing pre-college program!

These words always motivate me to never accept a limited version of myself... You should always do everything you are capable of, I adore your big dreams. "How can I accept a limited definable self when I feel, in me, all possibilities?... I never feel the four walls around the substance of the self, the core. I feel only space. Illimitable space."
