Edrie's Story

My passion is medicine.

I had a lot of passions growing up, but one of my main passions was nursing. Ever since I was young, I loved kids. I knew that when I finished college, I wanted to go in a field that involved children. I decided to become a doctor but I didn’t know which kind. As I started to get older, I realized that I would like to become a Pediatrician or an OB/GYN so I did some research on it and my final decision was to be an OB/GYN. I wanted to do this job because not only does it deal with children, but it deals with women as well.

If I attend Adelphi-Winthrop-University Summer Science Institute, it will help me in many ways. I say this because I would have a head start in life to explore my career choices at the same time have fun. My passion for medicine is very strong, and I want to see myself become one of the best doctors in the future. Attending Adelphi-Winthrop University Summer Science Institute would make me so happy because I always wanted to spend my summer immersed in a college experience as such. I could also tell my friends what I learned from this program and broaden their horizons as well. This program will help me to be a better person and to experience how college life would be.
