My passion is STEM.
My love for the medical field developed at a young age of 5 when I went to the doctor to get a physical examination. I was immediately enchanted by all the medical supplies in the doctor’s office, and all I wanted to do was touch everything. I asked my doctor millions of questions about all of his equipment and what each object did.
Now, I want to invent and make technological innovations that could cure cancer and H.I.V, make more important discoveries in stem cell research, and help scientists learn more about the human brain. The Summer S.T.E.M Program at Cooper Union will help me excel in my passion by giving me the opportunity to participate in biomedical and genetic engineering projects that will give me an idea of what to expect when I take similar classes in college and try to find a job in this area.
"Mackenzie is a good candidate for this program because she is passionate about engineering and completely committed to becoming a successful engineer. She is an extremely diligent student who goes beyond the minimum requirements to get a good grade.
This program aligns directly with Mackenzie's long-term goal of studying engineering at the university level. While Mackenzie has taken advantage of every opportunity within our school to pursue her dream, this program is her chance to explore engineering at a more challenging level and get the preparation she needs for college and beyond."
It's so great to see that so many people are supporting me. Thanks to your help, I'll be able to participate in the Summer STEM program at Cooper Union. There, I will learn about engineering in the field of medicine and science which will help me expand on my introductory course on design engineering .
I am looking forward to working with college professors who are experts in their fields, meeting students with similar interests, and getting hands on experience with advanced technology.
I can't wait to update you once the program starts!
