My passion is the culinary arts.
Culinary Arts has been my passion since I was young. I was always interested in cooking since my family regularly cooked meals together. I would also watch shows like "Iron Chef of America" and "Unique Eats" on The Cooking Channel. Those shows interested and inspired me because the chefs had a level of creativity that I wanted to have. They created the most uniques dishes out of ingredients I never heard of. I recently took my passion to the internet, where I learned about different dishes from recipes and videos I found there.
By attending the Culinary Cooking Camp for Teens, I hope to take a few steps towards transforming my dream of becoming a chef into reality. I believe that this program will help develop my passion by giving me the fundamental basics of cooking and working in an actual kitchen environment while learning from professionals who work in this field. It will also give me a glimpse into what it will be like in culinary school.
The biggest obstacle that I have faced was the surgeries that I had on my legs two years ago. I was born with Elis Van Crevald syndrome, which is a form of Dwarfism. This has hindered my growing, and I have had many surgeries since birth. This has been my biggest obstacle to overcome because it took a long time to recover. I am always working on strengthening my legs because a chef must be able to stand up for a long period of time.
"Jason's persistence, passion and hard work are displayed every day in his studies. He takes the most difficult classes possible: two AP and two Pre-AP courses. He is a constant positive presence in classroom and is always ready to help other students or faculty.
Jason is an extremely bright and dedicated student, with both an incisive mind, strong work ethic, and a knowing sense of humor. He also processes an almost impossible drive to achieve and never makes excuses that might come from someone who overcome an incredible physical challenge. Jason is a wonderful candidate for your program, and it would make a big difference in his life. I highly recommend him."
Hello everyone, this is an update on my school year and everything building up to my Culinary Cooking Camp. Everything so far has been going smoothly, I have received information on my program but there are still a few small details that I need to get together. I am very excited about how this program is going to help me and affect my future. I just wanted to thank you again for your support and donations, it was a great help!
