Joshua's Story

My passion is biology.

I discovered my passion for biology when I was introduced to it in 8th grade. This came as a surprise to me since I didn’t really like the science classes at my middle school because nothing from that subject interested me. The reason I enjoyed biology was because I loved learning the different parts of a cell, how the cell acts when a virus comes in contact with it and basically the functions of our cells, organs, and applying that in real life.

Attending Centenary Summer Scholars: Pre-Med, AP Biology will help me to explore my favorite subjects as a possible career option. I always loved taking any science class that explored things at the molecular level. By going to this program, I want to solidify that biology is what I want to study and see how I can turn this into a possible career option for me. Attending this program will help me take my passion more seriously I want to be a biologist and that’s what this program is for.
