My passion is law.
I am specifically passionate about trial law where we have the chance to debate and present a case. I would like to defend those who are often mistreated, after witnessing this type of mistreatment first hand. I want to give back to my community, and continue to fight for the legal rights of those who are unable to fight for themselves.
Education Unlimited Mock Trial can help me prepare for a legal career, and I will have the chance to focus on specific skills that will be necessary to have. Many people are afraid because they feel the legal system is against us. I believe this program will help me better understand the legal system, and how to communicate with my community about the hurdles they may face. I want to give back, and this summer program is the perfect opportunity and place for me to start.
Karina is a go getter! Karina is not afraid of challenges or obstacles, and views them as opportunity for growth. Karina finishes what she starts and does not let adversity of any type get her down. Participating in Education Unlimited Mock Trial would be an amazing opportunity for Karina, allowing her to experience her passion. Her desire to help others in a way that will allow them to be self sufficient is admirable. Among her peers, Karina always takes the opportunity to advocate for those that may not be able to do so for themselves.
This summer I attended the Education Unlimited American Legal Experience. This program was amazing, something I would have not done with the help of my mentor Ms. Pitters and those who helped raised the money. The program was very diverse, people from around the world attended. This experience encouraged me even more of pursuing my dream of becoming a lawyer one day. The instructors, two great lawyers, were able to share their passion with us by teaching us the most important rules in trials. We got to practice those skills in our very own mock trial.
I am going to be attending the Education Unlimited Mock Trial at Stanford this summer. I am really excited to join this program because I'll get a chance to experience law. I feel that my school doesn't give much opportunities to experience and learn more about law. Therefore, joining this program will give me an idea of what it feels like, which can help me decide if law is what I want to do for a living.
