My passion is medicine.
My father first introduced me to the idea of pursing a career in medicine. It became my dream after I was given the opportunity to work alongside a doctor at my father's job over the summer. This experience opened my eyes to the responsibility and power a doctor has. By becoming a doctor, I will be given the ability to save people's lives. Medicine is such an interesting topic because there is so may different things you can concentrate on. I am most interested in being a sports physician because it involves my other favorite hobby (basketball).
Wuraola is in my College Seminar class. This class allows her to explore possible career choices and learn about the college application process. Since the beginning, Wuraola has spoken to me about her passion for medicine. Every opportunity she had, she would research different areas in the medical profession and the top schools that offer medical programs. She presented a project on her desire to become a surgeon. Wuraola is a dedicated student who excels in the academic setting. Her energy and genuine kindness allows her to be a pillar of support to other students who may struggle. They turn to her with ease and comfort, knowing that she is always willing to help them succeed.
At Brown this summer, I will attend a course that will immerse me into the world of medicine. This class will provide me with insight on the life of a medical student. Attending this program will be a new and exciting experience because it gives me a hands on experience in biology. This is different because most of my learning in school is textbook related. Going to Brown, will also allow me to talk and bond with my peers who have common interests as me.
Ultimately, attending this program will allow me to see if going into the medical field is the right choice for me. Brown is a potential college I will be applying to in the fall so it will also be a college tour/visit.
Love you Wura!!
