My passion is game design.
As a young boy, I was very shy. Since I was an introvert, I relied on video games for entertainment specifically the Nintendo DS. I believe playing video games increased my confidence and my communication skills. I always liked playing games where the protagonist of the game ended up risking his or her life in order to save others. I'm positive that these video games I played influenced me to be more of an extrovert. Now I look back and I'm eternally grateful that I had video games in my childhood to benefit from. I only wish to help other troubled kids to benefit from video games like I did.
Being part of the Santa Clara University Summer Engineering Seminar will give Edwin a unique opportunity to access the information that is needed to write code that could at some point be made into a games or an unlimited number of computerized programs.
The Santa Clara Engineering Summer Seminar I attended this summer was a blast! I love being a college student, and experiencing that in a week made me excited for college. This program has really given me a glimpse at all different interesting fields in engineering. I especially look forward to learn more about civil engineering because I really enjoyed the civil engineering lecture and fun activities.
I made some really amazing people during this program. It was definitely the highlight of my summer. I encourage those who are interested in engineering or think they might be to apply because this program really exposes you to the endless possibilities studying engineering has.
Here is what I wrote in my journal before I left for the program!
"I'm so excited to have the opportunity to go Santa Clara Engineering Summer Seminar where I will be introduced to Engineering. I can't wait to live the college life experience, and have classes with actual engineering professors. I hope this program will make me realize one of the engineering sectors is the right choice for me."
