My passion is art.
I once drew a comic of three young girls, angrily. Two were whispering to each other mocking the girl behind them. Laughing to myself, I showed off my messy squiggles proudly, and a teacher called my mother. I prepared myself for punishment, and my mother simply burst out in hysterical laughter. Bewildered, I listened to her encouraging comments and she ended up saving my drawing. It took me a handful of years to comprehend why she did not punish me but encouraged me. I realized that instead of expressing myself in a violent form, I took this anger onto a blank paper. I used art as a coping mechanism, and transformed my irritation into a story. I discovered something new about myself: my surroundings inspire me. I am compelled to take out my pencils and draw. I associated this feeling, this urge, to an artist's passion.
Attending US Performing Arts Acting for the Camera will allow me to bring my comics to life and see art in a new perspective. One of the things I love to do is making comics: original characters, giving them personality, and then creating a story. By acting, I'll be able to bring the characters and stories I've creative to life. Being exposed to this different environment will be a chance for me to learn not only techniques but also developing a different perspective towards art.
Brianna would be a wonderful candidate for US Performing Arts Acting for the Camera due to her self-motivation. There are many things in her life that might be seen as factors to hold her back from success, but Brianna works around and through them to produce work beyond that of others. I worry, however, that our small community may be stifling to her growth as an artist, seeing as there is only so much we can do to support. And so this opportunity would be a wonderful chance for her to mingle with other self-motivated artists who wish to learn and grow.
After 5 days of being with a new environment, new people, and new experiences, I come back home with a feeling of bliss and appreciation. I feel like I grew a lot emotionally and as an actress. Once again, thank you all who supported me and those who gave me this opportunity!
First, I want to thank everyone who supported me in making the attendance of this program a reality for me! I am really excited to go to a new environment and learn how to act with people I have not met before. Surely I am somewhat nervous, but I know that this will help me a lot.
I hope you have the very best time this summer my dear!
