My passion is medicine.
I discovered my passion for medicine at a young age. Since then, I dove into learning about medicine and after many discussions with my mom about open heart surgeries she has witnessed as a Unit Assistant, my passion for medicine continued to grow. I learned about how the medical field helps saves lives, and with my mother's support, I have decided to pursue this passion in hopes of achieving my goal of becoming a trauma, cardiac, or neurological surgeon. I am hoping to transform my passion from watching medically-themed shows to action by participating in Centenary Summer Scholars.
Attending Centenary Summer Scholars will help me pursue my passion for medicine by exposing me to a hands-on environment where I will have the chance to learn from talented doctors. Spending two weeks on the Centenary campus with other young aspiring doctors will give me the chance to become a more independent individual, as well as inspire me to work harder than I already am. Centenary Summer Scholars will allow me to immerse myself in the life of a medical student as I quickly approach the college application process. I will be provided insight into how to successfully navigate the medical school educational track in the specialization I choose to pursue. Furthermore, Centenary Summer Scholars will not only expose me to a positive environment, but will also raise my confidence as an individual in all aspects of my life.
Centenary Summer Scholars will give Clara the foot in the door she needs to accelerate her interest in medicine from passion to practice. Not only will she gain invaluable knowledge and experience working with professional doctors, but she will be able to learn from the other passionate students around her in a new environment, ensuring both formal training and observational and experiential learning actively contribute to her growth. With this holistic and wide-spread data intake, Clara will be able to utilize Centenary's networks to expand her knowledge well beyond what she has learned from her current accessibility to professionals the medical field.
From Monday to Friday, I took a four hour class for AP Biology/Pre-Med. I met some interesting people.
Thank you for your support!
July 8th was the day my mother dropped me off at Newark Airport to get to my program. I was able to locate my T.A in front of the arrivals. I met with the group of other students I would be going with: Tele, Isabelle, Shelby, Trina and (etc..). I became really good friends with the majority of girls in our shuttle!
My sister is one of your teachers and she said you were a good student. Good luck with your future.
