My passion is nursing.
My mom has always inspired me to go big and be different. By helping people's loved ones, I feel I am being different, making a change, and being who I am. In school, I have always loved science classes. My favorite classes were Biology, Human Anatomy, and Human Behavior. These classes also made me fall in love with the human body and excited for the path of nursing.
I would love for an experience at UConn Pre-College Summer Program because I know this can be a preview to help me through my long path to nursing. I'm excited to see new things and learn through another way I haven't experienced. I believe through this program I can achieve great things.
Being an 11th grade student and a year closer to higher education, attending UConn Pre-College Summer Program will help Alia get a taste of the independence and new opportunities that college has to offer. The many changes of college life such as being away from home and family, rooming with an unknown person and self motivation to plan things out and stay on task are all experiences that Alia will benefit from by attending UConn. This real world on-campus experience will prepare her for life on the college campus of her choice, when the time comes.
