My passion is giving back to my community.
Just recently, I went to Uganda to teach students English and math. Going there made me realize the kind of conditions that people in developing countries live in. Because I am lucky enough to have all the things that I need, giving back to the communities that don't have the same opportunities is something that I am definitely passionate about.
Attending SuperCamp Senior Forum will help me develop interest in a subject and learn what I would want to do in the future. Going to this program would contribute towards my understanding of how to best serve communities in need, which is what I want to complete as a life goal.
"Jeffrey is always looking for ways to help others, whether it's traveling thousands of miles to Uganda to help build a school and teach, or small acts, such as offering to tutor other students who might be struggling. Jeffrey fund raised, took his finals early, and planned much of his Uganda trip on his own. I was very impressed with the maturity, passion, and drive he demonstrated in deciding to travel and volunteer there. When he returned from Uganda, Jeffrey sent his teachers an email update on what he accomplished there and thanked us all for supporting him. Not only is Jeffrey a self-starter, he is grateful and appreciative of the people in his life, who have helped him succeed. "
This summer, I attended Super Camp at UC Berkeley.
At first, I doubted my ability to get a lot out of this program. That was until I got out of my shell.
This program gave me the opportunity to make improvements in my life, specifically in communication, study skills, creating habits, and confidence, all of which I lacked prior to this program.
For example, before attending this program, I doubted that I would be able to get into the colleges that I wanted to, but after this, I have much more confidence and I am going to work as hard as possible to make everyone proud.
Through the Eight Keys of Excellence, we learned how to become a successful individual, and I hope to utilize what I learned both in and out of school in the future. The tools that this program provided me are priceless, and the memories that I made there will never be forgotten.
Thank you to everyone who helped contribute to my fund in order to send me here. It was an amazing experience, and I would not have learned what I learned if it weren't for all you generous donors.
I cannot express how thankful I am for your donations, and I share my greatest thanks with you all. I chose SuperCamp Senior Forum because I want to feel prepared. About to enter my senior year, I know a myriad of seniors this year who were confused about what to do, and had no idea what they should do for college. That's not someone who I want to be. I like to be someone who knows what they want, and to take initiative to act on it. That's what I really want to do, and this program offers that. Attending a great college is an accomplishment that I really want to achieve, and this program will do that for me.
Because of you all, I will be able to attend this program, and hopefully it will be a driving force in the future for my decision making. Again, I sincerely thank you all for your support in my endeavors.
Peace and Love,
Jeffrey
