Say'von's Story

My passion is the arts.

I cook with my mother every day; she teaches me a lot and we have fun in the kitchen. She likes to try new things, which helps me enjoy food more than many other people I know. We also make our own cookbooks that she plans on passing down to me when they're finished.

I watched my mother struggle, but she never gave up. She worked in construction my whole life, and with no construction education to back her up, she had to learn everything from start to present and has done so well! I appreciate her struggles because she did it the hard way, with me in her arms the whole way!

I believe Sur La Table will help me focus on my goals and better understand what I want to do in life. Sur La Table will be a fun summer program and maybe I can come home and show my mom some things in the kitchen!
