Since I was little, I always had an interest in becoming a doctor. I would always play the role of a doctor in my family, and would enjoy taking care of people when they were not feeling great. This passion became more of a future career goal after I was accepted into the medical academy for students in my area, and I started volunteering for the Milford Hospital. I'm very passionate about helping others, and I want to become a Medical Assistance so I can be an active part of the health process and help people feel better.
Attending the NSLC Nursing program will help take my passion to the next level. It will provide the necessary experience and information to pursue my dream. The program will help me to learn about the importance of being a doctor while learning from people working in actual hospitals. We will have hands on experience, project based learning, and professional lectures that will give me the tools I am currently missing to succeed. I want to be the best, and this program will help me prepare for my future.
Despite limited resources Emily has taken advantage of every opportunity in hopes of becoming college and career ready. She has already sought to gain experience by volunteering at a local hospital and participating in the "Medical Academy" magnet school program. Emily has earned excellent grades in our most challenging Honors, Advanced Placement, and Project Lead the Way courses at our school. She is doing all that she can to explore her dreams through education and exposure. Emily is not just good; she is an outstanding candidate for this program. She is friendly, motivated, and truly focused on being successful. I know that she will make an excellent medical professional. She will benefit by gaining first-hand experience about Nursing, and whether it's the right career choice for her. This type of opportunity is invaluable for young people. She will get the chance to engage with medical professionals, see a college campus, and meet other highly intellectual and motivated students.
This Summer at Yale University was one of the most exciting and amazing experiences of my life. The experiences were just breathtaking, that I am left with no words to describe how wonderful it was to become a student of Yale University for two weeks. Upon my arrival, the excitement and fun started right away. I attended several talks with amazing people, whom I learned endless things about. However, the most interesting part was attending classes at the Yale School of Nursing, in which I became overflowed by the passion of becoming a nurse as well as the knowledge that I acquired about the medical field that just inclined me even more to follow this path for my future. The stimulation of different medical scenarios and the activities of Leadership influenced and taught me many things that till the present day, months later, I still remember and apply it to my daily life. I got to meet people from all over the world and made many connections as well, in which surprisingly till the present day I keep in touch with. The ambiance of friendliness that the Yale staff created for us was amazing. I especially made a great connection with one of my TAs in which she helped me by informing me about the different nursing careers and the steps for applying to college as well. Also I got to experience being a college student for a few weeks in which I learn how to live with other individuals and by the end of the program the Yale students became a family to me. As experiencing the medical field in Yale, I was able to learn how to apply an IV, detect cardiac murmur, give CPR, apply injections and many more stuff that gave me a lot more knowledge about the field and pushed me towards this career. I'm very happy with my experience and I give my recommendation a 100%.
Thank you so much to all the donors for making this big dream come to a reality and Thank you Wishbone for making my Yale experience possible!
I will be excitingly attending NSCL Nursing program at Yale University this summer. I can't tell you how excited and amazed I am to be joining the program and attending such a prestigious school. I am desperately waiting for this summer adventure as I will getting hands on experience for what I consider to be my future career. Since I was a little girl I always had a passion for medicine, it was something that I was really attracted to and still am. This program will serve as an amazing opportunity to get experience for this passion of mine and get to know many people, interact and most importantly get a taste of college experience.
The program will help me to gain experience in the medical field I want to follow and develop an idea of what my future career consist of. I'm looking forward to gaining many experience and make tons of new friends along the way. I'm very excited to get hands on experience and gaining more knowledge. I chose this program because I believe it will provide me the experience and knowledge I'm looking for. The program will help me to take my passion into greater things and hopefully help me into the right path for following a medical career.
