A Note from Shari Long, Aylene's Mentor

Aylene is an excellent candidate for this program because she has an earnest desire to learn to create the worlds she has fallen in love with in books. Aylene is a curious student who ask questions and push others' thinking. She would benefit from interacting with other students who also love reading and writing as much as she does because in her community of Watts there are very few students who share her same interests. Aylene would be able to participate in community of readers and writers that she would normally not have access to. I cannot wait to read the stories she has written and also learning about the new books she will recommend for our library.
