Camron's Story

My passion is basketball.

I discovered my passion for basketball when I was slightly older. When I was younger I tried to play the sport, but I couldn't pick it up as easily. I was not the best player! I tried again when I played for my town's basketball team, but I still wasn't any better. I began to practice in middle school but I got cut from the basketball team because I wasn't good enough. At that point, I told myself I was going to improve my game and play in high school. I practiced in the park and overtime I got better. I played basketball my freshman year of high school, which was a good opportunity to experience what a real team was like and play basketball for a school and feel like you had finally accomplished one of many goals. A lot of people didn't believe in me when I told them I was going to keep trying. I tried and now I'm playing at the level that I want to.
