My passion is Writing and Storytelling.
I first discovered my love for writing in elementary school. Writing has been a beacon of light for me, where I could change my reality and dream of something better. As a little girl, I believed happiness was contagious. Thus, writing stories about my mother's happiness made me smile as well. This passion grew in 6th Grade. My adviser then, Ms. Nager, stumbled upon my writing and pushed me to lead the Creative Writing Club. In that club, I explored new prompts while expanding my skills and helping other students do the same. Through her, my passion grew as I learnt that my words could affect others in a positive way.
Zubaida is an incredible student. She works hard every day to ensure she has the absolute best grades possible. Though she attends a school with rigorous classes (and is taking multiple AP courses), spending time with other gifted students at Brown Summer will continue to push Zubaida even further. Additionally, she will benefit greatly from the experience of living away from home and on a college campus for a few weeks over the summer. Ultimately, Zubaida will definitely be attending an elite university in a little over a year - having this experience will do wonders in helping her prepare to excel when she goes to college!
I am proud to declare that I will be able to attend Summer@Brown this summer, in Providence, Rhode Island. I will be taking a class on fiction, allowing me to further develop my writing skills and dive further into my passion for writing. This program will allow me to learn from professional writers and surround myself with other passionate writers from different backgrounds.
I know this experience will push me to be a better writer. Therefore, thank you for giving me this wonderful, beneficial experience.
