First and foremost, I would like to thank each and every person who helped me throughout this journey, especially my advocate Adha Mengis. If it was not for all of you I might not have taken part in such an amazing opportunity. I was able to attend a week long program at UCLA where I learned about United Nations and was able to participate in Model United Nations conferences. During my time there, I learned that college is definitely a dream of mine but now it seems more attainable than ever. I learned that although I had no previous knowledge of MUNSI, I loved every step of learning as much as I could about it, and it only made me want to continue to step out of my comfort zone and explore many different careers. I met such wonderful people, such as the counselors; I personally became close with one named Malika who helped me through a tough situation and was willing to answer any questions I had in regards to college and her experiences. All of the counselors were similar to her too, they were all so positive and seemed genuinely happy to be there with us! I met other students of different ages and backgrounds. Every day, it was interesting getting to know about someone different. There were also students who were from different countries, for example, my roommate Anushka lives in India. She and I to this day keep in touch and I am glad to have met her. When we were not exploring the beautiful large campus, we were always doing interesting activities. We visited Santa Monica, a city I had never been to because it's far away from home but quickly fell in love with due to its beach and scenery. Other nights we did group activities such as a scavenger hunt, which let us really get to know the campus and also bond with our groups in a fun way. My group was actually complimented a lot for how much spirit and cheer we had along with how quickly we all bonded. Overall, I was challenged, encouraged, and I learned so much while enjoying every minute of it thanks to all of my supporters. Again I can not express just how grateful I truly am for all the support I received

This summer I have been gifted the opportunity to attend a week long summer program at UCLA. The program is the United Nations Model Institute and I am very eager to begin! I chose this program because it had availability and it caught my attention. Since I was young, I remember always being interested in something that had to do with the justice system whether it be courts, police officers, or even detective work. This program offered that and more! I will be able to dive into law aspects while also learning about international relations which I personally have not experienced myself. In the duration of my program, I hope to ultimately gain experience and knowledge. I would love to get to know people from anywhere and everywhere around the world. Also, learning about international relations and crises that are still very alive today are another added bonus. Lastly, getting to stay at such a well known school on campus is another aspect I'm greatly looking forward too. Thank you to all those who have supported me thus far.
