My passion is engineering.
I discovered my passion for engineering when I tried to fix my computer. I learned that trying to fix a computer with no prior knowledge was a really bad choice. I took it apart and put it back together, but I did not know how the insides worked. It looked fixed! Although it was not fixed, I found out I really liked the process of breaking apart my computer. I wanted to learn more about how computers worked and how I can fix them if I break them apart.
Our school does not offer an engineering pathway and my schedule had a conflict with the computer science class. Therefore, I hope I can get into this summer program, so I can learn some basic engineering. I believe that the BlueStamp Engineering program would help me explore my passion. I will be able to choose what to make and make it on my own, which is exactly what I am looking for. I feel that this program offers a real world reference while keeping it fun and interactive.
There is no engineering program or club available at Danny's high school. Much of what he knows about engineering stems from his own curiosity and exploration. He has taken apart his own computer to have a better understanding of its parts and function. Without any direction he took it upon himself to learn on his own. Danny will be off to college soon, so program will give him firsthand exposure to his major. He attends every college visit and college rep visit to better understand the programs and resources offered at various schools. One question that he always asks is about the engineering program at the school. He wants to innovate, create, and solve problems.
Hello,
I completed my 6 weeks at Bluestamp Engineering. I learned many new things in the program. Through the program I made a OmniDirectional Robot and even made a Website which is: http://bluestampengineering.com/portfolio-view/danny-g/"
Some of the things I learned how to use were Arduino (which is a microcontroller), a multi-meter, which checks the current, and more. I feel that this helped me explore the engineering field.
Thanks!
You had me at "it looked fixed"!
