Danie's Story

My passion is medicine.

My real passion is to become a cardiologist. In fifth grade, my teacher recommended this book called "The Gifted Hand" for me to read. It is about this man, a cardiologist, who gave people a second chance in life. After watching many heart surgery videos, I begun to show interest in the medical field.

This experience will let me see what the medical field has in store for me. Right now I'm at the stage where I choose what to do for the rest of my life. The school I go to, the activities I participate in, and also the chances I take, all add up to this.

Excitement, Thankful.

I am both excited and thankful to everyone who funded and allowed me to attend this program . I will try my best not to only enjoy but also gain as much knowledge as I can throughout the week that I am there. Since I am aiming to become a surgeon, the Pre-Med and Biology activities that I will be participating in will give me a sense of what I will be working on further in the future. I will work hard and use this program to my advantage. Thank you all again for trusting and giving me this opportunity to take my first step into the world of medicine.
