My passion is writing.
Writing because my passion after my first creative writing class. I noticed the power of words and the effect that they have on people. Now, I like writing about everything, from songs to short stories. I like to put what I imagine on paper and turn it into something that others can relate to.
I will develop my passion for writing by attending Digital Media Academy because I will surround myself with different people and a different atmosphere. I will share my work with people I meet in the camp and ask for their input. I feel like this program will help me experience different writing styles.
"Maria comes from a low-income family in which her single mother works hard to support her and her older sister, who is currently attending college. Maria also works in the evenings in order to earn extra money to help support her family. Though she has taken on a lot of responsibility outside of school, Maria is a hardworking and dedicated student.
I think Digital Media Academy is a great fit for Maria because she loves expressing herself creatively. This program would expose Maria to a group of peers who have creative passions, allowing her to explore a possible career field. Maria will take full advantage of this opportunity and work hard to create something that she is proud of."
After my amazingly fun summer I am really happy to be an ambassador for Wishbone. I feel really lucky to have gone to Stanford and been part of the DMA family. I was really happy to celebrate my birthday on the second to last day of the program. The DMA group was really kind and really welcoming. I feel really happy that I had the opportunity of working with them and learning from them. They helped me with my video and even the group that I was in was really helpful with the editing part. I am so glad I went and was able to meet my new friend Audria.
My first day was full of fun and a lot of nervous moments. Being at DMA for the first time was really fun. I enjoyed the dedication the instructors had. On my first day there, I made a new friend. She is from Indonesia, and weirdly enough we had a lot in common. Overall, the first day was really fun!
I still can't believe it's finally here! I feel so nervous yet very excited. I am ready to meet new people and to learn more about film. I want to be able to take in as much as I can even if it's just my first day. I am really excited to meet people my age who also have a passion for film. I also can't wait to meet our professors and get to know them. Thanks to Wishbone, I feel ready and even more excited to start the day.
You are incredible, Maria! I'm so excited that you get to participate in this great opportunity. :)
The Digital Media Academy sounds like a great program - best wishes!
