My passion is medicine.
My passion for medicine started when I was younger and was at the hospital for my father due to his thyroid problems. I was surrounded by many doctors and nurses who would help my father and make sure that he was healthy enough for his upcoming surgery. As I saw the nurses and doctors talking in medical jargon, I noticed many people in the hallway looking relieved and anxious. I then saw the courageous doctors and nurses as people who wanted to help others as much as they could. I wanted to help save lives just as they did; to help people return back to health just as they did for my father. My passion for the medical field has made me become a caring person and a person who strives to be as tenacious as those doctors even in the most stressful and intimidating moments in life.
Yesenia has unlimited potential waiting to be unlocked. I think she would benefit from being with like-minded students in a high level program such as the Summer@Brown program. Students like Yesenia, who are quiet, intelligent, always do the right thing and demand little time and attention can be easily overlooked in a day to day school environment. Yesenia would be very appreciative of the opportunity and I think she would use it as a launching point for moving herself into an elevated position academically and personally.
I am getting ready for my program as I meet with my advocate and discuss the necessary parts that are required in order to go. I have filled out most of my forms and have been reviewing the topics that correlate with my summer program. The topics that I am reviewing will give me a stronger background knowledge to review for when I begin my course. As the day when I begin my course get closer, I am very excited to attend a course where I have passion and determination. I know that I will to the best of my ability succeed the goal of being a respectable and honorable student.
