Sojey's Story

My passion is Volleyball.

The two years that I have been in volleyball has taught me sportsmanship. My volleyball team has been a second family for me. I am competitive, but once I get on that court I know I have to support all my teammates and be positive. Volleyball is something that I truly enjoy

Attending the Nike volleyball camp will bring me out of my comfort zone. This will be a great experience for me to interact with other girls that share the same passion. Playing volleyball helps me get my mind off of things and enables me to return to my responsibilities with a renewed outlook.

It is part of her personal identity and the skills that she has learned about perseverance, teamwork, leadership, and positivity have all transferred into her performance at school both academically and socially. My experience at volleyball camp is an experience that I will never forget. I improved a lot in my volleyball skills and hope to use everything that I was taught in my program during the school year. At first I was a little scared but once I got to the camp I Instantly felt welcomed. I met a lot of wonderful people from different places and formed a great relationship with them. We also got the opportunity to go to the Santa Cruz beach board walk where we got to bond more. I also got a little glimpse of how it feels to be a collage student. I'm so grateful that I got the chance to attend the Nike Volleyball Camp.
