My passion is medicine.
I discovered my interest in the medical field when I attended my sister's graduation at John Hopkins, in Maryland. It seemed really interesting to me as an eight-year-old. I always wanted to help others because I felt it was my duty to do so. But, I could not help someone if I knew nothing of their situation. Medicine became a major part in my life when I was in the 8th grade.
Attending Brown Pre-College would help me explore my passions by giving me an insight of how things are run in college and help me decide what I actually would like to do with my life. Attending this program would be an once in a lifetime opportunity. This opportunity would help me get a feel for college and what the difference is between high school.
"Bryn's high academic excellence and her involvement with organizations only places her in a league of excellent students with limited resources who deserve a chance and a opportunity to see what it is like in Ivy League college. Her intense desire and passion for medicine coupled with kind-heartedness sets her on a pathway to explore the world with unlimited opportunities, and Brown Pre-College Summer@ Brown is a door for that pathway. The 200 courses that the program offers is a very wide spectrum that Bryn will have a chance to explore and tap into her potential and help shape her future with concrete goals and eventually into a career."
Again I wanted to say Thank You. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to attend Summer @ Brown. Thank you for helping me gain independence. Thank you for opening my eyes even wider. My experience at Brown was worth the wild. Upon arrival I was nervous, which I couldn't understand since I've been across the world without my parents. But, once I linked up with my friend it was all better. I had a fun roommate that still keeps in touch even though she's in the Philippines.
My professor was amazing. She was kind-hearted, funny, and calm. She was nervous no one would sign up for the class. However, over 20 students signed up. The class was challenging. But, after all the hard work, I've learned much about my brain and it's progress of sleep and thinking. Did you know we go through 5 stages when we sleep?
Campus life was different. There was so much to do, so many people, so many places to see. My friend and I visited beautiful buildings and a nearby park one afternoon. The RA's held various events for us so we'd make new friends. Overall, my 2 weeks there were great. I'm so grateful, let alone blessed, that you have donated your money so I could receive this amazing opportunity. I thank you so much. I would recommend that everyone (if able to) should attend a program like this. You get the feel for college, independence, academics, and difference in social life. I feel more prepared for college, than I did at the beginning of this year. This is an opportunity you shouldn't pass up. Once again, thank you.
I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you to everyone who donated to help me reach my goal. Receiving those emails notifying me I was one step closer always made my day. When I got the email my campaign was fully funded, I could not believe it. I wanted to say thank you again, for donating your hard earned money and giving me a once in a lifetime chance. It is greatly appreciated.
