My passion is science.
Science was not one of my favorite subjects in school as a child and it was not a passion back then either. As I steadily progressed into my teen years I was able to grasp complex theories and ideas such as Einstein's theory of relativity through the use of technology. That lead to an exponential growth in knowledge and enthusiasm to aspire for a higher comprehension of all fields related to science. It is a passion that will always have me asking questions and grasping for the answers. The scientific times are as amazing today as they have been at any time in history. Today we have the ability to generate enormous amounts of data is increasing at an unprecedented rate. We are discovering more about the human condition on an annual basis today than what would have taken decades in the past to achieve. Science is a study that stretches to all corners of this universe and it really can be found everywhere, so how could I not be passionate about it.
Ever since I was a kid, I have always been positive and seeking to try new experiences, understanding that through those there is always something to gain. By attending this course, I opt to subject myself a whole new level of tutoring, because, as previously stated, I am still thirsty for knowledge and new experiences. Moreover, this course will help me clear up my mind about which more specific field I want to follow, major in, and hopefully achieve my final goal, a Ph.D. Despite inclining towards medicine, it is not clear to me what I want to specialize in. Furthermore, I believe it will be a good "trial period" for college, getting to know what college life and classes are like, learning to cope with the way it works, which I expect will be fairly different from high school.
Ekram is precisely the type of student I'd like to see participate in a program like Yale Global Scholars. He very much identifies with his country of origin, and so he would greatly benefit from meeting and collaborating with a group of international students. He is the type of student who reaps all he can from his classes; he is always focused and eager to learn more. Ekram stands out for his calm demeanor and his maturity; he is very well-liked and respected by his peers. As a participant in your program, he would not only be actively engaged, but he would also listen intently to other participants' points of view and sincerely take others' viewpoints into consideration.
This summer has been so amazing thanks to everyone who supported me going to Yale. The Yale Young Global Scholars Program has been such a great experience and has allowed me to make new friendships and bonds that will last forever. I can't thank everyone enough. These are just the few memories I have made at Yale over the past two weeks because of your support. I am sad that the program is over but it has allowed me to connect with people from all around the world and for that I will always remember what everyone has done for me.
I'm very enthusiastic about just the concept of being at Yale this summer. The fact that I've been accepted and privileged to visit such a place is extremely rewarding and I am very grateful. During my stay, I hope to perform at the best of my abilities and hopefully, leave a mark or impact on my peers. Throughout the course of the two weeks, I will be exposed to all kinds of knowledge about biotechnology and biomedicine that I would not gain anywhere else, and that would not have been achievable without all of your help. So thank you for supporting me on my journey.
