My passion is basketball.
I discovered my passion for basketball when I was old enough to play. Around 5 or 6 I started playing in the Boys and Girls club leagues as a bony little kid. I wasn't the best and I wanted to be just like Paul Pierce. However, I couldn't shoot. Trying to get better as a child led me to see how much I really loved playing basketball. Right now, I am a sophomore in high school and I think that I can be a great player and get a scholarship to play in college. This summer opportunity will help me grow as a person by traveling and going to places that I have never been to, and making new friends and connections. Playing in the court allows me to relax, and It makes me feel like I have no worries in the world. Now, I need to continue to learn how to integrate basketball with school.
Mark has been dedicated to growing as a young man and as a basketball player. I have known him since he was in 8th grade and have seen him grow as an individual. Since coming to East Hartford High School, Mark has grown as a student and person.
Since completing his freshman year, he has blossomed into a leader and role model in our school. This past summer, he volunteered to coach our youth at our Hornets Basketball Camp. Mark showed a different side of him. Kids gravitated to him, he really embraced his role as a counselor/coach. He has also done numerous hours of community service to support our basketball program and giving back to our community. He has also excelled in the classroom, he finished the first quarter with all A's in his classes, while taking some honor classes! He has shown leadership for our basketball team as well, serving as a positive voice guiding underclassmen. He is well received by his peers.
I want to thank everyone that donated to me and I really appreciate the love.
You have so much potential. So happy to see you going for it.
I am proud of you! Your dream is in reach!
Hard work pays off!
Work hard, play hard!
