I discovered my love for medicine when I was in the hospital for my hand injuries. The doctor that I had would make me laugh, and he would make me try to forget about the pain. On my last day, he told me to promise him to be what I wanted and not to let anyone stop be from being exactly that. I told him that I wanted to be a doctor just like he was. I am up for the challenges on the path to becoming a doctor. I want to make my mom proud. If I make my dream, I would be the first to graduate from my family.
Centenary Summer Scholars would be my first time going to a real college. This would be my second time going out of New York. I would get to learn real life skills and how to take care of people in need. Through attending Centenary Summer Scholars, I would be learning more through college schoolwork.
I believe Hamsa is a good candidate for Centenary Summer Scholars due to the fact that he has a passion for medicine, science, and being a doctor. Hamsa has an extreme passion for helping others. This can be in the form of medical help, but I have also seen Hamsa help others through emotional support and restorative practice. He simply tries his best to make people feel comfortable in all situations. Hamsa always follows through on his commitments, and I know he will not disappoint. Most importantly, he will make every moment count in this opportunity.
Looking forward to your leadership next school year!
