Dante's Story

My passion is basketball, which I found when I was four years old. My mom bought me a ball and hoop and everyday after I finished my homework, I'd go outside to play basketball. When I was 12, my mom signed me up for basketball tournaments and Amateur Athletic Union teams, which helped me further develop my basketball skills. I worked non-stop to find my playing style, and now I'm improving as a player everyday.

Attending US Sports Nike Basketball Camp would help me pursue my passion for basketball because it will allow me to learn new skills from new players. Also, I know that to become a better player than I am right now, I need to train with other people to learn from them. I hope this camp will teach me to be a more humble player and a great overall athlete.

A Note from Mr. Locke, Dante's Teacher

I have had the lucky opportunity to see Dante in action at one of his basketball games, and he has a true drive and grit while playing. The JV team he played on this year has not found much success, but he is positive and upbeat about his teammates and coaches. Also, despite not having consistent coaching throughout his life, he sought out the AAU program on his own, knowing he had to improve if he wanted to realize his dreams. Dante will greatly benefit from attending US Sports Nike Basketball Camp.
