My passion is music.
I first started to love music listening to my sister's music in the car. I would find anyway to listen to music whether it was using my siblings' electronics or listening to the radio. I fell in love with music, and I can't go one day without listening to music a couple of times. At first, my love for music was very diverse, but as time passed I started loving one type of music which is hip hop. To this day, my love for music has expanded to rock, jazz, and R&B. Music has helped me through many rough patches of my life, which inspired me to start making music of my own. I started out with buying my first guitar when I was 12, and then it developed into making music on online production programs.
I feel like attending School of Rock San Mateo will expand my musical skills and even help me improve my leadership skills and performance skills. I would love to meet new people and collaborate with other people that have the same passion and love for music that I do. I know that there will be a diverse mix of musical interests and ideas, and that is something I am interested in because I want to share my ideas and inspire people and be inspired by people as well. I think that I have a lot to offer to the community and that everyone else will also have something to offer. This program will also overall improve my musical skills which is something I have been trying to do for a while. Finally, I think that this program will leave me with a new, better perspective on music and collaboration.
Johnsy is inquisitive and a self starter, and has "open ears" in that he is willing to take on challenging musical tasks regardless of whether a genre might lie within his personal taste. As such, I've seen his taste grow from the popular hip hop to indie rock, jazz, and R&B. Johnsy began playing guitar in my class, but has advanced quickly using his own initiative. He works well in groups and is willing to share what he knows as well as ask for help when he needs it. He will be a great addition to School of Rock San Mateo.
