My passion is medicine. Many people die from the lack of proper access to healthcare or adequate knowledge of the situation. In these circumstances, family members often blame themselves for not taking immediate action. Entering into the medical field, I will be able to educate people on prevention efforts, make healthcare more accessible, and earn the right to say I made a difference in this world’s problems.
Centenary Summer Scholars will help me pursue my passion for Medicine because the program is very hands on. As a visual learner, I need to see how something is done and do it myself. Without practice, it will be difficult for me to understand. This program does more than teach the few basics any person in a high school classroom gets. I will get to feel what it's like to be in the medical field with the advanced labs and classwork that the program offers. I don't know what in medicine I want to do yet, but by performing sutures or analyzing sonograms I will be closer at finding out. I will leap at any opportunity I have to be a doctor or even learn to be one. Centenary Summer Scholars is my boost to gain experience and knowledge of medicine at a closer look.
Fatou has a passion for understanding human anatomy. She goes above and beyond in class, to fully understand how the human body systems work. She puts forth incredible effort to grasp how various medical professions work, and what their day to day life is like.
Fatou is a student in my Project Lead the Way Honors Human Body Systems class. She is a model student is every aspect of this course. She puts forth 100% effort every single day she attends class. She never complains or makes excuses. And furthermore, her work is exemplary, thoughtful, and authentic. Fatou has an amazing work ethic, which is apparent in every aspect of my course. She strives for perfection and asks questions that are inquisitive and smart.
Dear all of my sponsors,
I had so much fun at the program. My class and teacher were amazing, the kids I met were all different and kind, and the RA’s were so helpful and patient.
Thank you for that wonderful opportunity,
Fatou Muteba
Dear all of my sponsors,

Thank you so much,
Fatou Muteba
