My passion is acting.
I discovered I liked acting when I was younger. I used to pretended I was a character from a TV show and would recite lines that they would say. I also joined a program called drama at school and I love the way it gives me a thrill to be on stage when we perform. I feel free and like I don't have a care in the world. Being on stage allows me to have hop that I can grow up to do something important even if it means that I will not grow up to be a famous actress.
I feel that attending A.C.T Youth Conservatory 2-week intensive will help me explore my passion by allowing me to experience life as an actor in the making. Also, attending the program can give me experience and confidence to try out for lead roles and to go to castings. It can help me decide if I will want to dedicate my life to acting. Furthermore, it will help me develop the skills needed to be an actress and will hopefully give me the confidence to be less shy and to believe in myself.
Adamari would thrive in this program because of the opportunity to meet and collaborate with other like-minded high school students from across the bay. She enjoys learning from others in a hand-on setting and the nature of this program would allow her to grow as a student and person in the short two week time frame. Adamari also does well when working toward a large project or performance. The performance piece at the end of the program would allow her to showcase what she has learned! She is very dependable and hard working when there is something meaningful to work towards. The setting and context and perfect for Adamari to get a lot out of this opportunity.
I am extremely grateful for the opportunity that I have been given. I am really excited that my program is almost starting and I will have a ton of opportunities to learn from other people and get out of my comfort zone. I must admit I am a bit nervous because I have never been to San Francisco alone but, I am willing to learn how to get there and expand my horizons.
Thanks,
Adamari Duran
I have heard you really deserved this and I love to see young girls succeed early in life because you will then be more likely to succeed later as a woman.
Adamari - you are an inspiration to your peers and the community at LWP. We are proud of you!
