My passion is helping others.
Reading is a big part of my life. What I quickly noticed was that many of the authors I read about fell into depression or even committed suicide. The common cause of their depression was feeling alienated or neglected, which broke my heart. It made me reflect on my own experience growing up and thinking that no one would understand me. I do not want people to think that they are alone. Therefore, I want to help people so they donโt feel that their unique mindset is a waste.
Harvard Secondary School Program offers many courses that I want to study in order to achieve my passion. These courses include expository writing, public speaking, literature, psychology, and creative writing. Even if I am only able to do one of these courses, it would be an honor to be in a program knowing that I am learning from those who have great passion for the subjects they teach. I hope that this program will help me make a huge step to reaching my goal.
"Everyone respects and likes to be around Rania. She exudes a sense of humility and empathy towards others that is rare and admirable. Her sensitivity and concern for others not only sets her apart from her fellow classmates, but also allows her to work collaboratively with others.
Academically, Rania is more than ready to participate in a program as rigorous and intellectually stimulating as I would expect a summer program at Harvard to be. Participation in this program would challenge Rania to strengthen her ability to think critically and analytically. The Harvard Secondary School Program would provide Rania with the opportunity to experience first-hand what the future could hold."
Even though it was only seven weeks, it feels like I had studied and lived at Harvard forever. I took two classes: "Intro to Psychology" and "Psychology and Law," and we got to focus and go so in depth with the human mind and behavior and how it plays a role in our justice system. Not only was it really interesting, it helped me determine my career path as a future lawyer for criminal law. When I was not studying, I really got to learn more about Harvard itself, and it felt amazing to be a part of this wonderful environment. I made so many friends and I'm so glad I got to have the real college experience, from dorming to studying, which was super fun. Overall, I really had an amazing experience and I hope that one day I can graduate Harvard University and pursue my career as a future lawyer. Thank you all for the support, it really helped me find my future.
I hope you have a great time, I love you.
