My passion is my education.
I was six years old when I realized that I want to be in the law field. After telling my mother what I had discovered she said, "Jahia that is going to be a lot of work. It's a very challenging job and it's a lot of years in school." Since that day, I have been challenging myself in every aspect of my life while dealing with obstacles that threatened my education.
Attending the Harvard Secondary School Program will help me explore my passion for learning because I will challenge myself academically and be able to connect with people from all over the world. There is no better place to get an amazing education than Harvard; it's extremely competitive. There is a wide variety of courses that I can take through this program, including the courses that have to do with my future career in the law/business field. I don't believe any other opportunity would challenge my education as much as this program.
"Over the past three years, I have had the opportunity and privilege to observe Jahia's high school experience. Jahia has impressed upon me the virtues of a successful student through persistence unique to a person who is committed to achieving her goals.
Jahia is a student whose limited financial resources only fuel the quality of her character, which is stout with integrity, compassion, and greatness. The Harvard Secondary School Program program will challenge Jahia to elevate her personal standards by surrounding her with peers who also work towards excellence. I think the diversity of intelligence on an elite college campus will serve to help her crystalize her post-secondary dreams."
