My passion is entrepreneurship.
My love for entrepreneurship was sudden and life-changing because it helped me discover my dream career. One day in the 9th grade, my friends and I were give a project to create a business plan. I then came up with an idea to open a student center for children who live in low-income households and are not eligible for certain opportunities. At first it started as just an assignment for school, but it soon became a real life goal for me. I them came up with possible funding ideas, different types of tutoring and athletic services for kids. Now, I want to be able to start my own business after college that could help my entire community.
Amanna has proven her dedication and drive countless times this year and even last year. She is a great candidate for Centenary Summer Scholars because she will strive to get every single ounce of usefulness out of that program. She will network, she will learn and force herself to demonstrate to the highest of their expectations because she is driven by a personal mission to become the best business person that works to serve kids like herself. She has a good heart and a good mind and she wants to put it to use for the betterment of our world.
At my summer program I lived on campus for a week at Centenary University participating in their summer camp called Centenary Summer Scholars. Throughout that one week I got to live in the dorms. Everyday I went to class and learned a new skill from my teacher Ms.Gianna. We went on field trips and we explored the campus. I learned so many time management skills, organization skills and even communication skills. I also participated in activities that allowed me to meet other teenagers from around the country and even some out of the country. Overall I had an amazing experience, I actually felt like I was away at college. So again I just want to say a final thank you to my Wishbone advocate Mr.Romney, my family, my friends, my donors but most importantly I want to give a big thanks to the Wishbone team for granting me with such an amazing opportunity.
I really enjoyed my week stay at Centenary University and being a Centenary summer scholar. I participated in activities daily and I learned many key skills inside and outside the classroom that I can use in my everyday life. Lastly I just want to say a final thank you to all of my donors and supporters. I couldn't have don't this without you!!! Thank you for believing in me.
I will be attending Centenary Summer Scholars for writing workshops this upcoming summer. Thanks to all of my donors that have supported me in my Wishbone journey. I can't wait to enhance my writing skills to help prepare me for my future in communication studies.
