My passion is biology.
The way my school is structured I had to take physics class in the 9th grade and then chemistry class in 10th grade. I learned that I loved the concept of science but dislike chemistry and physics. When I was put into biology in 11th grade I began to invest in my love for science. The work was not easy but it pushed me to think more in depth about what I already knew since 8th grade, when I took a brief introduction to biology.
Biology is all about understanding what's going on inside your body. By attending NSLC Biotechnology, I will learn how the body works and how the body of microorganisms function. This program will give me an experience of a lifetime and something that I will cherish for the rest of my life.
Shantel would benefit from participating in the NSLC Biotechnology program as it will help her pursue her interest in the field of biology. Shantel does not currently have much access to resources outside of her Biology classroom to aid her in learning more about this subject, so she would benefit from this program as it would provide her with more information and knowledge. Shantel would also benefit from participating in a program that will help her build strong organization and time management skills.
My program at American University in Washington, D.C. was very helpful not only to increase my knowledge of leadership, but also to introduce me to a new topic of biotechnology. Learning about biotechnology was very interesting to me because I realize that biotechnology is not a field I want to going to through biology. On the other hand the leadership workshops were far by the most amazing guidance I've ever had to continue my leadership skills in my schoolwork and as well as my future. I want to thank every donor for donating to my campaign to make my opportunity come true. It was an experience of a lifetime.
