I come from a family that never graduated high school and that wants the best for me. Knowing that they did not get far with their education makes me want to be a first generation college student. This would be a great accomplishment for my family because I would show my younger brothers that even though my parents did not get far we could flip that around and help my parents out with things that they could not get when they were younger. I also come from a great high school that has helped me learn tons about how much education matters and that anything in life is possible to achieve. They have inspired me to go to college, as well as my parents.
I have had a passion for science and math for sometime now and I hope to pursue a medical career. Ecology Project International is the best program to help me pursue this career because you are outdoor collecting data from plants and animals and discovering new things about them.
Karen is an amazing student and person who has not had many opportunities to be presented with new and varied challenges outside of the classroom. She lives in an urban, insular community, and excels in this small environment, however encountering new struggles in new environments will widen her perspective, build her confidence, expand her goals, and build her perseverance. Karen has high hopes for her future, desiring to go to college and pursue medicine. This means that she will encounter many obstacles on her path to reach her goals, and I know that an extracurricular program would help her build resilience and a true passion for facing challenges and learning from failure.
Knowing that I got accepted to the program makes me extremely excited because I am going to be able to explore more about what I want to do with my future. During my trip to Yellowstone I am determined to get the most out of everything I do there. Every step I take there will help me process if that is what I want to do when I grow up or if I want it to be part of my future. I am mostly nervous about traveling out there and not recognizing the place. A challenge that I might face is meeting new people and being shy. I will overcome this obstacle by just being myself and let everything else come to me.
Thank you for your donations. I really appreciate your support so that I can attend this program. If it wasn't for your help I would not be able to explore science and math at the Ecology Project International. Your donation will help me explore more about what I want to do with my future. You have helped me out a lot, thank you very much.
