I was inspired by my mother to learn about fashion, because she was the first person to teach me how to sew. She pushes me to learn more about any subject that I am interested in, but especially fashion, because it is one of the few things we share in common.
What makes me most excited about it is when I have an idea and I draft a plan to make my idea a reality. When I accomplish my goal or finish my project I’m inspired to continue perfecting my ideas and think of new ones. When I am pursuing my passion, I feel excited and motivated. There are endless opportunities when it comes to fashion and I love to learn about every aspect of it.
I am motivated to success to be a positive role model for my younger family members and my community. I want to show my family and community that it doesn’t matter where you come from if you work hard enough and stay dedicated to your dreams, you can accomplish your goals and have an excellent career.
I want to attend the Parsons Pre-college program, because I want to attain the necessary skills for having a career in the fashion industry. I would like to learn more about fashion composition and design through the pre-college program. I also want to learn about the business aspects of fashion design. My biggest career goal is to have my own business. I want to have a college experience before I actually attend college so I can be prepared for the challenges ahead. Since Parsons is one of the leading fashion schools, I believe that it will present me with many challenges that will better my thinking and my sewing abilities.
Kaylla is a self-starter with big dreams and aspirations. I believe this will enhance her dreams and inspire her to work harder to make them come true.
Kaylla is one of the best-behaved students that I’ve encountered. She always manages to start and complete assigned tasks in good order and on time. Kaylla sets an excellent example for girls who are younger to follow. She is also very punctual, pleasant, and she works hard to make sure that her time is well spent.
After taking my fashion design course, she has returned to my class as a teaching assistant. Right now she is taking the lead on a quilt project that will hang, next year, in our new school.
I wanted to update you to let you know that I will be going to college next year! I will be attending Baruch College. I want to thank you again for supporting me last summer in attending the Parsons Pre-College Academy Program. I can't wait to continue working hard as a college student. Thank you again!
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to participate in the Parsons Pre-College Program. I am so excited to learn about the fashion industry from a professional. Without your help and kindness, I wouldn’t have had the chance to experience how a really college class operates. I can’t wait to start my classes in the summer.
Hi Kaylla, I loved my costume and fashion design classes when I was young, so it's exciting to see you have this opportunity to attend Parson's! Best wishes and go get it!
Go Kaylla!!!!!!
