My passion is Fine Art.
I first discovered my passion when I was very young, when I realized that I always loved to draw, do crafts, etc. I have also always been a super creative person, so I feel like that plays a big role in my love for art. I have always loved to draw and sketch, I have filled up many sketch books with my drawings. Art has always been an emotional outlet for me. I express myself through my paintings and I create pictures of what I am feeling. Doing this has helped me immensely with self-confidence because I have gotten lots of amazing comments on my paintings. Now, I dream of having a good career that involves art, because it is my biggest passion.
I had previously heard about this program because a representative had came to my school and talked about all of the different programs that this summer program offered. I fell in love, and I instantly wanted to sign up for this because I knew it would be a great experience for me and would help a lot with my future. I feel like this experience will really help me in a way that I will get to see how it really is being inside of an Art University and being able to participate in things I love doing. I will also probably get to meet lots of great people that will love doing the same thing I love to do. I have never met anyone with the same interest as me, and in this program Ii will be able to experience that and so much more.
Valeria is one of the hardest working sophomores at our school. Unfortunately, as a small charter school, we have almost no opportunities for her to cultivate her passion for the arts. If she could attend Academy of Art this summer, I know it would help her truly flourish as a young artist. This would be a game-changer for Valeria. This would be invaluable for her self-confidence and self-esteem. It might also really lend some direction to her college journey.
I had a very life changing experience at the program I attended. Big Thanks to everyone who helped me attend. My time at the Academy of Art really helped me out with learning responsibility, and learning how to be on my own and figure things out without anyone's help. It really helped me come out of my comfort zone and do things I wouldn't normally do. Such as going on the train to San Francisco on my own, making new friends, and trying different types of art. I wouldn't have been able to do it without everyone who helped ! (:
We would like to Thank Michelle Torres for all her support & her donation of $20
