Antaneisha's Story

My passion is acting. I decided to take a theater workshop even though I have never taken one before. I was curious about what theater would be like, but I didn't know if I would like it or not. When I first started taking the workshop, I thought it would be boring, but as I kept going to it, I learned to enjoy it. Some of the things that I enjoyed was the shakedown activity, the one word sentences, and the tongue twisters. I enjoyed doing these activities because they helped get me out of my comfort zone. I decided to continue to pursue acting because I want to continue to push myself out of my comfort zone and learn more about myself through theater.

What I love about performing is how we are part of a community, everybody is friends and they always help each other on stage. A passion of mine is being a part of this program so that I can learn more about connecting theater with my community of Watts. I hope that by attending this program, I will be able to share all the skills I learned with all of my peers. I hope that sharing what I learn with others will help build a stronger theater community of watts.
