My passion is nursing. I discovered my love for nursing at a young age. At my aunt's daycare, we would always play nurse. Then, when I was in the eighth grade, we did a project on what we wanted to do when we grew up. I chose nursing. At first, I was overwhelmed by all the types of nurses and all the jobs possible for them. Originally, I was interested in pre-natal nursing, but after more research, I've concluded that my passion is in neo-nursing.
I believe that attending UConn Pre-College Summer Program will help me pursue my passion of nursing because it will show me the basics of nursing and how it would be living on a college campus and taking college classes.
I cannot think of a better person for the UConn Pre-College Summer Program. Janee will absolutely thrive being exposed to all kinds of information she's never had access to before. She is warm, kind, and engaging. I've seen her talk to even the hardest-to-reach students and bring them around. Janee could excel at anything she chooses, but this will be a rare opportunity for her to leave East Hartford and see what life is like living on a college campus. She will tackle the experience, making lifelong friends, and furthering her interest in the health sciences. As a smart and hardworking young woman, I know the program will challenge her appropriately and open her eyes to the kind of work she will actually be doing.
