Chelsea's Story

My passion is hiking.

I discovered my passion for hiking when I went to a camp for a school trip to Manice in Connecticut. There, I learned about many things like the ecosystems and how to make fire as well as hiking and climbing up mountains to get to the peak. After that trip, I developed a big love for nature and it taught me a great deal for respecting it and doing everything in our power to preserve nature.

Attending Christodora Summer Ecology Program will help me pursue my passion for hiking because I will get a first-hand experience of how it's like to live in the forest and mountains again. As well as getting that amazing experience, I will also learn more about nature through the program and hopefully teach that and spread awareness to the importance of Mother Nature. I always have and will always have a deep connection to nature, so attending this program will only enhance my knowledge, and my love for hiking even more.

Chelsea is a great candidate for the Christodora Summer Ecology Program and would benefit greatly from being a part of it. Chelsea is extremely passionate about the environment and would learn so much from the program that she could not learn living in the city. Chelsea is a natural leader, responsible, caring, mature, friendly, thoughtful and respectful. Chelsea would pursue all aspects of the program with the utmost enthusiasm and would deepen her appreciation of nature.
