My passion is basketball.
Basketball became my passion because it's always been there for me no matter the situation. In my neighborhood, there's nothing but trouble surrounding me, so instead of being a part of the controversy, I use my 24 hours differently; I play basketball and try to be the best I can. Although others may say "it's just a game," I, on the other hand, consider it to be a lifestyle. In conclusion, basketball became my passion because I've surrounded myself with the sport and have taken the time to do the thing I love.
I will develop my passion by attending Nike Basketball Camps because I will be able to showcase my dedication; all the hard work that I have put in will be on display for the first time. My passion for the game is the fire inside of me that keeps me going, no matter how tired I am, how hard a task may be, or how many people doubt me. Furthermore, attending the camp will make my passion for the game even more thrilling because I'll know that I'm improving.
"Dale is an exceptional student and person. In addition to Dale's passion and hard work on the basketball court, I have seen Dale persevere and persist as a student and citizen.
Dale is a stoic and mature young man. He feels angry and upset about social inequality, but he does not express this anger through violence. Dale has a great deal of self control and discipline and thinks before he speaks and acts. Recently, Dale approached me with the idea of creating a Public Service Announcement to help strengthen the strained relationship between local police and Bronx youth.
Dale is also an exceptional basketball player. If Dale is accepted to Wishbone and the Nike Basketball Camps, I believe that he will have an invaluable experience that he otherwise would not have the opportunity to be a part of. Dale has the strongest character of any student I have taught. I feel strongly, that given the right opportunities, Dale will do something outstanding."
