My passion is culinary arts. I discovered my passion for culinary arts at age 9 when I saw how my mother made scrambled eggs for breakfast. I just thought about how effortlessly she whipped up the eggs to make them come out fluffy, and soon enough, she taught me how to make it myself.
Attending Sur La Table Teen Cooking Program can help me to see how I can better at making basic foods as I get older and start learning more about food.
Nyeisha would blossom in a program like the Sur La Table Teen Cooking Program. As her personal statement reflects, she has been interested in exploring culinary arts since childhood but hasn't had the resources or the mentorship to truly delve into the field. Sur La Table Teen Cooking Program would offer her this chance to venture into the kitchen, but it would also enable to interact and learn from students from other schools. Nyeisha herself would also bring much to the table, both literally to the kitchen table with her speedy learning skills and attention to detail, but also in terms of her persistent, cheerful spirit!
I am really excited to learn more about cooking with this summer program and it will hopefully be a great experience.
