My passion is exercising.
Exercising is one of the things that I am passionate about, and is something I discovered about a year and a half ago. When I was younger, I went to get my physical and after my doctor recommended I should see a nutritionist. I went to my first check-in with the nutritionist, and she took out a diagram that said average and obese, she pointed out where I was and I was exactly on the line from being obese and average weight. I was very frightened and that is when I started dieting, attending the programs (with other overnight kids) once a week, and starting to exercise. This is why exercising is one of my passions, and I still go to the YMCA today.
Ever since I was in 5th grade I have always been interested in volleyball. At first I wasn't very good at it, but once I got the hang of it I started to fall in love with the sport. Now that I have transferred to Summit Prep Charter High School, I really want to try out playing volleyball again at least for my senior year. I haven't been in a volleyball team for a very long time, but I feel that if I get accepted to this program I will be encouraged to practice again and hopefully get accepted my schools team.
Brenda is a thoughtful and kind student who transferred to our school from another school last year. She is somewhat quiet and is the type of student who can easily fall through the cracks. However, when she plays sports, her passion and love for the game brings her out of her shell. It turns out that, on the inside, Brenda is very playful and goofy, and has a great sense of humor, but I didn't get to see that side of her until she started playing soccer again. She did not make the volleyball team at her old school, partially because it was a much larger school. Here we have a small school, but she is afraid to try out for the team because she thinks she may be rusty. If Brenda is able to participate in this camp, then she will be much more confident in her skills and will certainly try out for the volleyball team next year.
Because we love you
