My passion is soccer.
I discovered my passion for soccer at a young age. I remember always watching the boys play and thinking to myself, "why can't I be as good as them?". My parents didn't allow me to play in an actual league. In the sixth grade I decided to join the school league behind my parents back because I knew they didn't support me in the idea of playing. I finally told them the day of finals and they knew how much I loved the sport and from then on they've been my greatest supporters. Soccer has gotten me through many things, it's my passion. The feeling you get while you're running across the field or that amazing moment when you take on the defense and score. It's an amazing sport that I love and enjoy. Soccer still continuous to be my passion.
Maria has the drive and skills to become a highly successful soccer player and adult. However, Maria often lacks opportunities to be surrounded by peers who share the same drive and dedication to sports and academics. Her admission to this soccer camp will not only help her as a player, but will further solidify her identity as a successful young woman, and help motivate her to continue to build a successful future.
Thank you donors for giving me a chance to attend an amazing program over the summer. I attended to US girls soccer program at UC Santa Cruz and not only was the field by the beautiful view of the bay but i got the see the nice campus itself. This program has taught me many things that I will use later on in life such as communication. I made friends from different backgrounds and met some amazing coaches. I am glad I got the opportunity to attend a great program. Thank you.
I am happy to say I will be attending the US Nike Soccer program this summer at UC Santa Cruz. I am excited to stay over night at the UCSC campus and to meet more girls like me. It will give me an opportunity to know how it feels to be a college student and get to meet coaches. At my school many of the girls are not fans of the game and going to this program will help me get to know and communicate with girls who enjoy playing soccer. I am looking forward to meeting these girls and coaches this summer. I chose this program because I love playing soccer and believe that I can learn new things all the time. I can assure you guys that attending this program will help me become a better student athlete and get prepared for when I get into college in 2018,Thank you.
