Quiniek's Story

My passion is coding. As a young child I always wondered what made those characters in my video games move so well or how my MP3 plays music, and I realized all of these answers involve coding. As I got older, I started to dig deeper into my passion for coding and learned that without coding many electronics wouldn't function properly or at all. Coding is really like the mind of the device giving it all its instructions. That's why I love coding so much.

Going to iD Tech Camps New York will help me further explore my passion for coding and allow me to discover even more applications for this interest in a variety of fields.

A Note from Mr. Romney, Quiniek's Counselor

Quiniek is definitely a go-getter. While he is not yet able to pursue his passion due to limited access to the intensive resources one needs to become proficient in coding, he tries to learn as much as he can through our technology department teachers during his lunch and after school time. Quiniek also tries to teach himself as much as he can. However, as he gets older and closer to college he needs to increase his sophistication with common coding language and skills, which is why this opportunity to attend iD Tech Camp New York is so important.

ID Tech Camp

I want to thank Wishbone for offering me this wonderful opportunity to attend the ID Tech Camp which was held at Queens College from August 6-10 in New York. I learned to Assemble, Invent, and Code a computer and was eventually able to take home my Laptop where I can continue to develop and improve on some of the ideas that were presented. I also want to thank all those who supported me in this effort. I made some lasting friendships and am grateful that I was able to fulfill this dream. Thank you.

Excited

I am excited to have been selected for this program and I just want to thank you and Wishbone for all the help. I am very happy to be going to this college for technical engineering classes, and I hope I will learn many new, interesting, and intriguing things this summer. I also hope to make many new companions over the time period that I am there.
