My passion is coding.
I discovered my passion for coding through my cousin. My cousin was the first one to introduce me into Computer Science, and it really got my attention. I would always hang out with my older cousin so he can tell me more about CS and I would ask him if he know how to hack or code. He then explained how there's different types of programing languages and he named Java and Javascript. Since then, I have been trying to get involved into any Computer Science programs that will lead me to my cousin's STEM pathway.
Attending iD Tech Camp will help me pursue my passion for Computer Science overall because I will learn and do a lot of things that are not offered to the public for free. These things might include: learning how to code, how to build circuits and building a robot. There are many things to learn from the Computer Science field and attending to the iD Tech Camps will help me gain more experience, and can help me be a better candidate for a future Computer Scientist job.
Salvador has shared that he will be the first in his family to attend a camp, as well as an academically related enrichment experience. He has a deep desire to explore a career in computer science. He has the drive and aptitude to be extremely successful! He just needs opportunity!
As there are no resources for students to explore computer science and other software-related experiences, Salvador joined the newly convened engineering club so that he can widen his exposure to those experiences. He has taken on making sure that the students have exposure to programming, and will spearhead bring Code.org to our club setting. His motivation is admirable.
