My passion is sports management.
When I was younger, I had aspirations to become a professional basketball player. However, as I got older, I started to realize that the odds of that becoming a reality might be slim. With this in mind and understanding that it takes several jobs to make the game that I love come to life, I choose to pursue sports management. From my involvement in extracurricular activities, I've developed a love for making and saving money. So, by combining the love for sports and finance, I thought that I could help others by providing great sports management services.
I fully believe that, by attending the sports industry management program at Syracuse University Summer College, I will further develop my passion for this field. This program will give me a first hand look at what is in store for me should I continue down this career path.
"Jarrett has a winning personality--others are attracted to him. His leadership skills, in my mind, will increase at Syracuse University Summer College. Additionally, Jarrett will be able to grow as he is exposed to other young people on a mission to learn and thrive. In my 40 years as a youth developer and author of books to motivate adults and youth alike, I know how important it is for young people to be seen as assets rather than deficits. Syracuse University Summer College is an asset-rich situation."
This past summer I attended Syracuse University for two weeks in correlation with the summer college. This was such an impactful experience, it opened my eyes to how college will be for me. I was able to explore the campus, meet people from all over the world, and most importantly, get insight on sports management. At first, it was challenging getting used to a college class setting, however I adapted. My class taught me inside knowledge of college sports. In conclusion, I thank Wishbone and Syracuse for a life-changing opportunity and I hope to stay connected with both.
This summer, I am attending the sports management camp at Syracuse University. I look forward to a life changing experience where I will be in the shoes of a college student. The camp includes workshops and classes about the profession of sports management. This is so impactful to me because this is the field i want to go into. Aside from the classes, I look forward to the activities such as the amusement park we will go to. However, what I look forward to the most is being away from home for two weeks. I feel that's so important to branch out away from where you originate. I look forward to the program and I know it will be a success.
Jarrett is enjoy the Summer Program.
I donated for a reason. I remember when you offered to pray for my nephew at a very young age. I think you were about 8 years old. I thank you for that and will always rember your heart to serve in any capacity you can. I also applaud young people for following their dreams. I wish you much success.
I support you bro, stay focused and be ready for the obstacles that come your way but I know you can handle it.
