Lizandro's Story

My passion is criminal justice.

I always wanted to work in law enforcement as a child. I loving watching shows like Criminal Minds and Law and Order. I like how the FBI Agents and law enforcement workers analyzed and solved the crimes scenes. I also want to study criminal justice because I've always had a passion for helping and protecting people. Pursuing a career in Criminal Justice will allow me to connect with my community and empower me to help others. I've always dreamt about having a job that I enjoy so much that I do not see it as a job because I genuinely enjoy it.

Attending UConn Pre-College Summer Program will help me pursue my passion for law because it will help provide the requirements as a student to attend a college with criminal justice program. It will also provide me with a deeper understanding for my career path. I believe I have a good understanding of what Criminal Justice is, but attending this program will assure me with further knowledge. This program is the right fit for me because it will allow me to see how crimes are solved through court cases by going through a mock trial and understanding how cases are solved.
