Fatima's Story

My passion is culinary arts.

Culinary Arts is in my blood. I have family members who are involved in culinary arts beause their family owned bakery. For years, I have walked by bakery displays in awe, admiring the delicate, beautiful designs waiting to be devoured. I know that creating delicious, beautiful food is a challenge, but it is one that will be very rewarding because I see how my family creates customized items for their clients and contribute to complete strangers' happiest moments, whether they be for weddings, birthdays or baby showers, to name a few. I want to learn how to create special items and share this piece of joy with many people. I am very excited to participate in this program and continue to grow my passion and skills in Culinary Arts. I hope not only to learn different techniques, but to practice skills in my own kitchen.

Attending ICC Pastry Camp for teens will help me pursue my passion for Culinary Arts because it would give me an experience that will get me more enthusiastic about it. It would help me become aware about the challenges that it brings. Attending the camp will guide me towards pursuing a career in culinary arts. Participating in this program will show me about different things I haven't learned that will help me decide my decisions towards the future. Experiencing different things that I enjoy will lead me to my big decision. I hope to get some techniques that would lead me to wanting to learn more in the long term. Joining this community of pastry chefs would have me equipped with the ability to create delicious things. My passion can lead me to becoming a baker in my family with the help of the ICC Pastry Camp.
